S.J.Res. 41 · International Affairs
A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the proposed export of certain defense articles to Israel.
Introduced Mar 27, 2025 · Motion to discharge Senate Committee on Foreign Relations rejected by Yea-Nay Vote. 27 - 70. Record Vote Number: 454.
What does this mean?

When the U.S. government wants to sell weapons to another country, Congress gets a chance to review and object to the deal before it goes through. This resolution would block one specific planned sale — certain firearms and gun parts — from being sent to Israel. If passed, it wouldn't affect any other weapons deals or existing agreements with Israel, just this particular export of guns and related equipment.
