Fiscal Year 2025 Veterans Affairs Major Medical Facility Authorization Act
Introduced Jul 23, 2025 · Became law
What does this mean?

The Department of Veterans Affairs, the federal agency that runs hospitals and health services for military veterans, would get approval to build a major new medical facility in St. Louis, Missouri, starting in the 2026 budget year. The project includes a new hospital building with patient beds, an expanded clinic area, a combined office and storage building, a power/utility plant to run the facility, and parking garages. The bill sets a maximum dollar amount the VA is allowed to spend on this construction, but it doesn't change veterans' benefits or care elsewhere — it simply greenlights this specific building project and its budget cap.
