H.R. 8897 · Transportation and Public Works
Improving Travel for American Families Act
Introduced May 19, 2026 · Received in the Senate and Read twice and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
What does this mean?

The TSA (the agency that runs security checkpoints at airports) would be required to test out easier, faster ways to screen travelers who are flying with kids age 12 or younger. This would happen at a minimum of five airports, with priority likely going to ones that see a lot of families passing through. If you're a parent or guardian traveling with young children, this could mean a separate line or a different screening process designed to make going through airport security less of a hassle.
