H.R. 8428 · Government Operations and Politics
Federal Fraud Prevention Workforce Training Act
Introduced Apr 22, 2026 · Received in the Senate and Read twice and referred to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
What does this mean?

Federal employees who handle government money or oversee programs that give out federal funds—like grant managers or people who approve payments—would have to take antifraud training every two years, teaching them how to spot fraud and report it. The training would also be offered to state, local, and tribal government workers who manage federally funded programs, and the federal government could require this training as a condition for receiving certain grants. Two agencies, the Office of Management and Budget (which oversees how federal agencies spend money) and the Treasury Department (which manages federal finances), would build and run this training program, and they'd have to report back to Congress on how it's going within two years.
