H.R. 504 · Native Americans
Miccosukee Reserved Area Amendments Act
Introduced Jan 16, 2025 · The Chair directed the Clerk to notify the Senate of the action of the House.
What does this mean?

This law adds a piece of land called Osceola Camp, which sits inside Everglades National Park in Florida, to an area already set aside for the Miccosukee Tribe. Because of this change, the tribe's reserved land officially covers this camp. The federal agency that manages public lands and works with Native American tribes must now work together with the Miccosukee Tribe to protect the buildings at Osceola Camp from flood damage.
