H.R. 30 · Immigration
Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act
Introduced Jan 3, 2025 · Received in the Senate and Read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
What does this mean?

Non-U.S. citizens who admit to or are convicted of crimes like stalking, child abuse, sex offenses, or domestic violence would be barred from entering the country and could be denied legal status even without a formal conviction. The bill also adds sex offenses (including crimes against minors) and a broader range of domestic violence and coercive-control behavior to the list of crimes that can get a non-citizen who is already in the U.S. deported. In short, it widens both the entry ban and the deportation rules to cover more types of violent or abusive conduct than current law does.
