H.R. 2493 · Health
Improving Care in Rural America Reauthorization Act of 2025
Introduced Mar 31, 2025 · Received in the Senate. Read twice. Placed on Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders. Calendar No. 377.
What does this mean?

This bill keeps federal grant money flowing through 2030 to hospitals, clinics, and health networks in rural areas — money that helps them stay open, offer more services, team up with other local providers, and improve the quality of care they give. If you live in a small town or rural community, this is the funding that can support your local clinic or hospital network. The bill also adds a requirement that some of this money specifically address the needs of underserved groups (such as low-income or otherwise disadvantaged populations) and that those communities have a say in how the programs are designed and run in their area.
