H.R. 1503 · International Affairs
Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2025
Introduced Feb 21, 2025 · Received in the Senate and Read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations.
What does this mean?

This law targets people around the world who profit from forcibly taking organs from people (often prisoners or vulnerable people) and selling them for transplants. The President would have to identify these individuals and organizations and then freeze their U.S. assets and bar them from getting visas to enter the country. Separately, if someone is convicted in the U.S. of illegally selling a human organ for a transplant, and they used a passport or crossed a border to do it, the government could take away or refuse to renew their passport while they're still serving their sentence or on supervised release. Ordinary Americans wouldn't be affected unless they're involved in this kind of organ trafficking.
