H.J.Res. 61 · Environmental Protection
Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to "National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants: Rubber Tire Manufacturing".
Introduced Feb 25, 2025 · Became law
What does this mean?

The EPA (the federal agency that sets pollution limits) had put out a rule requiring rubber tire manufacturers to cut down on toxic air emissions from part of their production process, called rubber processing. That rule came about after a court told the EPA it needed to regulate pollution sources it had previously left unaddressed. This resolution would cancel that rule, meaning tire manufacturers would not be held to those specific emission limits for the rubber processing part of their operations.
